Grenville Day 2
8th October 2019
Activities are over for day 2 with all Sampford children taking part in orienteering during the morning session. Mr Snow is now looking forward to the children continuing their map reading skills in preparation for the Exmoor Challenge later in the school year.
In the afternoon sessions Groups 1 and 2 took to the seas in their canoes and had a fantastic time paddling out to the point followed by some brilliant fun jumping in! We also had a visitor in the form of a grey seal!
Group 3 were inside taking part in climbing and bouldering. They also learnt how to belay (feeding the rope through to help their climbing partner) and tie figure of eight knots.
Tomorrow we are all together again participating in team building, then in the afternoon group 2 are indoor climbing and groups 1 and 3 are tackling the high ropes! Hopefully a dinner of curry and rice will set people up for the 'leap of faith'!
