Welcome to Beech Class

My name is Mr Watson and I am the class teacher. Our class teaching assistants are Miss H and Mrs Rawlings.

In Beech Class, the children of Year 3 and 4 are encouraged to take risks with their learning with the understanding that we can learn through our mistakes. Through an immersive curriculum, they are given the opportunity to explore and investigate both core and non-core subjects within real-life contexts.

Within our class, there is a big focus on our school values; Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Kindness, Forgiveness and Courage. These values help the children to become well-rounded individuals that enjoy building on their learning. The children can enjoy celebrating their own and each other’s successes through the use of learning powers.

Across the year, children's learning will be enhanced by various trips and visitors. There is even the chance to go on residential which the children really love. Keep a lookout for more information about these events!

Please read the following for key information about our class:

* At the start of every term, this web page will update with the curriculum overview for the term. The overviews will show you what your child will be learning and offer a few suggestions of what you can to do at home to enrich their learning.

* Our Class have PE once a week and we ask that your child comes to school dressed in their P.E kit on this day.  The PE kit list is:

  • Black or blue Shorts
  • A royal blue round neck T-shirt
  • Trainers
  • Black or blue Tracksuits for the colder months if required
In the interests of health and safety, no jewellery will be worn to school, except for earring stubs (one in each ear). Earrings must be removed for PE and hair tied back, away from their face.
