Bicton Cross Country

19th November 2021
On Friday the 19th of November, the Year 3 and 4 girls and the Year 5 and 6 cross-country teams headed for Bicton College to take part in the East Devon finals. The meant that the very best runners from all school in the East of Devon had qualified for the event - so the competition was tough!

All the children represented the school brilliantly - running their very best race around the rather hilly course around the college fields.

The Year 3 and 4 girls finished with a respectable combined score of 175 - with the children supporting each other on the way around and running at a good pace. Special mention to Zoe who finished 24 out of around 80 runners from numerous schools across the east of Devon.

The Year 5 and 6 boys - with two late call ups to the squad (thank you James and Theo) - ran fantastic race finishing with a team score of 81 which meant that they finished 3rd! Hugo and Felix both finished 6 and 7 - spurring each other on to run an amazing race. Special mention to James as he was picked out by the sports leaders for a determination award when finishing the race with a sprint finish and a smile on his face - receiving a well-deserved medal.

And big thank you to Kevin Moran and his sports leaders for organising and running the event.
