Paignton Zoo

9th March 2023
The children in KS2 travelled down to Paignton Zoo to take advantage of their schools' offer. It was a fantastic day out where the children were able to extend their geographical and scientific knowledge on animals. Beech class focused on animals who live in Europe and Ash continued to make links on South American animals.

We also attended a workshop led by an educational officer about plastics in the seas and oceans; this linked directly to work that Ash class had covered in the autumn term and was great to revise and deepen their understanding of this issue. All the children took part in practical sessions to remove plastic nurdles from sand and identify where plastic found on our shores originated.

It was a fantastic day which saw the children really enjoy looking and learning about animals at Paignton.
