London Day 2

2nd May 2024
WOW! What. A. Day! We are back in the hostel now, all in bed after a jam-packed day of London sights. After a plentiful breakfast, we took the river cruise up the Thames - taking in all of the sightseeing opportunities and waving at a lot of tourists!).
Then we wondered down the South Bank to eat our lunch, crossed the Millennium Bridge and the stood on the steps of St Pauls. After this, we took the tube to South Kensington and the Science Museum. Once we had explored the halls of the museum it was back on the tube again to The Strand. Currently, we are reading a book called Kaspar - Prince of Cats in which the main characters and event take place in The Savoy Hotel - on The Strand. So, after a bit of sweet-talking, we got into the famous Savoy foyer and went to see a carving of Kaspar! After seeing this newly-found celebrity, we ate at Bella Italia and then headed off to the theatre to see Matilda. What an amazing musical it is - offering real inspiration for the end of year production. Then it was a short walk and two train journeys back to the hostel to take a well-deserved rest and bed.
