Football Vs The Duchy

17th May 2022
After school on Tuesday the Y3/4 and Y5/6 football teams played their first matches of the disrupted games from this season. Despite the lack of games, the children did brilliantly and showed some great teamwork when playing.
In the Y3/4 game, Mason opened the scoring in the first half with a great finish into the top corner and then Henry doubled the lead in the second half with a great shot into the far corner. There were also some great defensive displays from Edward and Zoe - tackling fairly and then clearing the ball. Jack, in goal, also came out on top of some one-on-one chances for the Duchy. A great display and a 2 - 0 victory!
The Y5/6 team came up against a strong opponent in their game as The Duchy showed great passing and finishing as a team to take an early 3 - 0 lead. But, despite two more goals - both of which were deflections off our own players - the team never gave up and scored two goals of their own from Oscar S and Felix. Mr Snow was really proud of them all as it was the first competitive game they had played together.

Apologies for the lack of team photos but the weather (although it does not look it the photos) was awful and there wasn't an opportunity for us to gather together.
