Welcome to Beech Class

Welcome to Beech Class

My name is Mr Watson and I am the class teacher. Our class teaching assistants are Mrs Wakefield and Miss Hill (Mon to Thurs). On Friday, we will have Mr Curnow joining us.

In Beech Class, the children of Year 3 and 4 are encouraged to take risks with their learning with the understanding that we can learn through our mistakes. Through an immersive curriculum, they are given the opportunity to explore and investigate both core and non-core subjects within real-life contexts.

Within our class, there is a big focus on our school values; Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Kindness and Forgiveness. These values help the children to become well-rounded individuals that enjoy building on their learning. The children can enjoy celebrating their own and each other’s successes through the use of learning powers that are expressed through different animals.

Across the year, children in both Year 3 and 4 will have brilliant opportunities to go on residentials and other out of school trips. Keep a lookout for more information about these to come!

Please read the following for key information about our class:

* At the start of every term, this web page will update with a few suggestions of what you can choose to do at home to enrich the learning they have been doing in school for the various topics we cover. Please check and have a go at the activities!

* Our Class have PE once a week and we ask that your child comes to school dressed in their P.E kit on this day.  The PE kit list is:

  • Black or blue Shorts
  • A royal blue round neck T-shirt
  • Trainers
  • Black or blue Tracksuits for the colder months if required
In the interests of health and safety, no jewellery will be worn to school, except for earring stubs (one in each ear). Earrings will need to be removed for PE and hair must be tied back, away from the face.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information. If you have any questions, please contact sampford@ventrus.org.uk.
