Year 5 London Residential - Day 3

Well! That’s the London Residential wrapped up for another year – and what a great time we have had. The children were brilliant at getting everything ready this morning: breakfast eaten, day bags packed, rooms tidied, large bags taken to the store, and water bottles and lunches prepped.

Things were pretty busy on the Tube this morning, but the children were fantastic at listening to instructions (and squeezing onto the train!).

Our one activity for the day was to visit the Natural History Museum, and we certainly covered a lot of ground as we explored the marvellous halls of the museum.

One of the favourite exhibits was the collection of precious gemstones and minerals, but the children also enjoyed seeing the enormous collections of animals, fossils and other artefacts from the natural world.

On our way to the coach, we also took part in an activity in the grounds where the children searched through bark and leaves to find minibeasts, before examining them under a microscope.

This entry is being typed up mid-journey on the coach on our way home. Many thanks to Mr Curnow for accompanying Mr Snow on the trip – a real expert travel companion and a font of all knowledge to have around!
