London Residential Day 2

What an awesome, jam-packed day we have had!

To begin with, we walked alongside the canal to Canada Water before catching the train to Waterloo to access the South Bank. From there, we went to the pier to catch the sightseeing boat up and down the Thames, taking in the sights and the many facts.

After this, we went on the London Eye, which was a great way to add to our London geographical knowledge. Then it was into Shrek’s Adventure!, which the children LOVED, getting involved in the drama and challenges along the way.

After lunch, we set off walking. First, we went past the Houses of Parliament and ‘Big Ben’ before moving on to Horse Guards Parade via Whitehall. We then had a quick snack in St James’ Park before taking in the magnificent sight of Buckingham Palace. Next, it was through St James’ Palace to Trafalgar Square (to spot Lord Nelson), and then on to Covent Garden, where we were lucky enough to see a tightrope walker’s act.

After a short walk over Waterloo Bridge, the children settled down to a delicious meal in Giraffe, and then it was off again, back over Waterloo Bridge, to watch Hercules, which was FANTASTIC.

Once it had finished, we braved the busy tube station to catch the Elizabeth line and Overground back to the hostel.

We are now all tucked up in bed, ready for tomorrow’s adventures in the Natural History Museum before heading home!
