Beach Bag Design & Technology Project

Beach Bag Design & Technology Project

Our Year 3/4 children had a fantastic time bringing their creativity to life in our beach bag design & technology project! Over several sessions, pupils explored real textile products, learned how different fabrics and stitches are used, and developed their own design criteria before sketching imaginative bag ideas.

They experimented with printing techniques, testing patterns and colours before creating their final designs using block printing or painting. With great determination and resilience, the children then transformed 2D designs into fully sewn 3D beach bags—carefully joining panels and evaluating their finished products.

This hands‑on project not only developed practical sewing and printing skills but also encouraged perseverance, problem‑solving, and pride in producing a functional item they can truly call their own. The children loved every step, and their unique, colourful beach bags are a brilliant celebration of their hard work!
