SDC11641.JPG A very warmwebsite pictures 472.jpg welcome to Sampford Peverell Primary School and thank you for joining us on our website.

Sampford Peverell Primary is part of the Children First Federation which was formed in May 2010.  The Children First Federation consists of Hemyock, Wilcombe and Sampford Peverell C of E Primarys and Sidbury C of E Primary School who joined us in November 2011.  All policies relating to this school can be found on the Children First Federation website.

We have a “schools within school” philosophy that ensures we all work very closely together in ensuring the achievement of the highest standards in all four schools whilst maintaining the individuality and autonomy of the individual schools.  Our Federation provides excellent opportunities for teachers and other staff to develop their professional expertise which directly impacts on the quality of teaching and learning for the children.  Staff are able to share their best practice within a professional learning community developing an exciting and innovative curriculum for all our children.

The Children First Federation (CFF) is part of the Primary Academies Trust.  The PAT was established on the 1st November 2011 and includes: The First Federation, Orchard Vale Primary, South Brent Primary and The CFF making a total of 11 primary schools.  Being part of the PAT further increases our capacity to share best practise, specialisms and work in a collaborative way to provide high quality learning for all our children.

At Sampford Peverell Primary we always put our children first. We work hard to form, strong and trusting relationships with every parent/carer and child. We seek to inspire and challenge every pupil, in order to help them to fully develop their character, confidence, sense of compassion and spirituality to achieve their full potential in all that they might do.

The school prepares children well for citizenship in a global economy, emphasising not only the academic skills but also the attitudes, Christian values, teamwork and creativity so necessary for life  in the 21st Century and for some.. the 22nd Century!

This website gives just a small glimpse of who we are and what we are actively trying to achieve for all our pupils here at Sampford Peverell Primary School. So please, explore and enjoy our website and do feel most welcome to come along and visit us and see us in action. We would be delighted to meet you.

With regards to admissions, we are able to inform parents whether we have space in individual year groups, however, all admission requests must go through Devon County Council’s Admissions Team.  For further information and online application forms please click on the link provided.

Our Values and Aims

Christian Values

The following Christian Values have been adopted by the school for the next year, following a consultation with all of the families with children at school.

Kindness – reflecting the kindness, mercy and compassion of Jesus and the love of God for everyone.  In school we encourage everyone to show kindness and care for one another.

Honesty - Christians believe that truth is revealed in the Bible, showing us the way that God means us to live.  In school we encourage everyone to be truthful in their dealings with one another.

Respect  - Respect for God extends to respect for all creation, including all people, animals and our environment.  In school children and adults are expected to show respect for each other, their belongings and their environment.

Happiness - Christians believe that God loves and cares for them in many different ways in all aspects of their life.  By encouraging an appreciative and thankful attitude in all members of our school community we help to create a happy community.

Teamwork / Unity - The Bible teaches that life is a gift from God and it is our responsibility to use our talents and abilities in the best way we can.  In school children are taught to value the contribution that everybody makes to the team.

Forgiveness - Forgiveness is the means by which damaged relationships are restored.  It is an act of the will, motivated by love.  Children and adults in school are helped to acknowledge that we all make mistakes and we all need forgiveness from God and each other.

These values form the basis for our collective worship and are a focus for reflection in the classroom.
